Hello Everyone

June 8th will be the start of Alert Level 3 as set by our Chief Medical Officer. This will permit the opening of dental clinics.  Wade Abbott Dentistry & Associates will be opening to the “new normal” for emergency, urgent and elective care. The staff at WAD have been working hard in preparation for the big day. Be aware that how we interact with our patients and each other will look a little different. To maintain social distancing and patient/staff safety we have implemented a number of new protocols.

All patients will be contacted prior to their appointment. A list of screening questions will be asked. Once you arrive for your appointment please stay in your vehicle and call the office, our patient coordinators will let you know if we are ready for you. All patients are asked to wear a non-medical mask. Only patients are permitted to enter the clinic. Parents of small children or people that need help can have an escort/guardian. When you enter the clinic you will again be asked the same screening questions and your temperature will be taken ( parents and escorts too).  You will be asked to sign a treatment acknowledgment risk form consenting to treatment.   Once through screening you will be taken to your treatment room. We ask that coats be hung in the closet and all personal items, such as purses, be left at home. You will be asked to rinse with an antiviral mouth rinse. From there the dentist will see you.

We have made many changes to protect the patients, the staff, and the doctors. Our reception desk is now enclosed with Pexi-glass. No one will be seated in the waiting room as we try to control patient traffic and maintain social distancing. You will see lots of signs reminding us of the prevention of COVID-19 throughout the office.  Hand sanitizer will be provided as you enter the clinic. Don’t be surprised if we all look a little different. Medical grade gowns are now the norm, as well as masks and face shields. I promise that our caring smiles and happy faces are under all that protection.

WAD has always had air purification units throughout the clinic but now All treatment rooms will have medical-grade air purifiers with HEPA filtration as well as germicidal UV lighting.  Scheduling has been adjusted to allow for social distancing and proper disinfection of the clinic. All staff and doctors will be screened daily with temperature taken prior to the start of the day and after lunch. Enhanced precautions will be followed to ensure the safety of our patients, our staff, and our doctors. This is paramount in providing the best possible care of our patients.

These have certainly been trying times. As we all adjust to the new normal, please be patient with one another. We are all in this together.

With Love,

The staff of Wade Abbott Dentistry & Associates.
