At Wade Abbott Dentistry & Associates a number of procedures are performed using a soft tissue diode laser. Soft tissue diode lasers use an energy wavelength that is proven to demonstrate a high affinity for soft tissues. This enables the soft tissue to be ablated, or cut, and sealed by vaporization. As a result, patients tend to experience far less postoperative discomfort, as well as significantly less collateral damage to otherwise healthy surrounding tissue areas. Some of the procedures performed with the soft tissue diode laser include:
- Shaping of gums for esthetic contouring
- Pain control for ulcers and cold sores
- Soft tissue biopsy
- Abscess drainage
- Implant uncovering
- Soft tissue crown lengthening
