After completing a bachelor of science with a concentration in nutrition at Memorial University of Newfoundland in 1999, Dr. Wade Abbott continued his education at Dalhousie University and completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 2005. During his four years at Dalhousie, Dr. Abbott completed additional electives in dental implant treatment and studied the success rates of dental implant therapy.
Since 2005, Dr. Abbott has exceeded continuing education requirements needed for licensure. He has completed training in the surgical placement and restoration of dental implants, as well as minor bone replacement procedures. Dr. Abbott also enjoys providing clients with the latest in orthodontics (braces). He has completed numerous hours of training in the field of orthodontics. He loves how he can change someone’s smile with the conservative treatment of moving teeth into a more pleasing and functional position. He continues to push himself for the benefit of his patients. Dr. Abbott’s new focus is helping patients achieve complex rehabilitation with a multi-interdisciplinary approach. This means meeting patients’ esthetic and functional needs, in a conservative and systematic approach with the involvement of specialists within the field.
When not working, Dr. Abbott can be found with his wife, Jennifer, and their young family. He enjoys snowmobiling, camping, softball, hockey, hunting, and fishing.
