Hello! My name is Sydney and I’m from St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. Although I loved growing up at home in St. John’s, I wanted a change of scenery for school, so I decided Ottawa was the place for me. I attended the Canadian National Institute of Health, where I completed the dental hygiene program. I had an amazing experience while at school. I learned so much, made great memories, and met so many wonderful people. After graduating, I knew I wanted to return home to St. John’s, where I’m now happy to be living and working.
I’ve wanted to work in the dental field for as long as I can remember. When deciding which area of dentistry was right for me, I realized that dental hygiene was the perfect fit. I love being able to help people feel confident in their smiles while also giving them the knowledge and tools they need to confidently take care of their own oral health.
Outside of dental hygiene, I love staying active, one way is by being involved in rugby. I play and coach rugby with the Provincial Rock Program and Swilers RFC, which has given me the opportunity to meet so many great people and continue doing something I love outside of work.
